First Transgender Candidate in SriLanka LGBTQ+ is an acronym that stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and other gender identities and sexual orientations not explicitly listed in the acronym. The "+" symbol signifies the vast diversity of identities within LGBTQ+. Among them Transgender means those whose gender identity differs from the sex they were assigned at birth. It can be Trans Men or Trans Women.  Transgender Women are women who were assigned Male at birth. They have a female identity and may experience gender dysphoria, mean distress brought upon by the discrepancy between a person's gender identity and their sex assigned at birth.  Maya Sinhala Movie.  Maya is a 2016 SriLankan Sinhala 3D horror comedy movie directed by Donald Jayantha and co-produced by Raja Sadesh Kumar and Srimathi Sadesh Kumar. It stars Ranjan Ramanayake, Pubudu Chathuranga in lead roles along with Giriraj Kaushalya, Nilmini Kottegoda and Upeksha Swarnamali. This film is based on Indian Tamil film Kanchana directed by Raghava Lawrence.  The movie is around a transgender woman. So, this is a great example for queer representation in the movie industry. The movie includes past and present stories. In the past, the young boy named Mayantha over time becomes a transgender woman by reflecting girl's behaviors, facial expressions and attitudes.
