Kottu mee is a popular brand of instant noodles in Sri lanka. It is produced by the Ceylon Biscuits Limited group under their CBL Munchee range of products. The name kottu mee is derived from the Sri lankan street food dish kottu roti. These are quick and easy to prepare, usually by boiling the noodles and mixing them with a spice packet that comes in the packet.  They create various advertisements time to time focusing on different events. The 2023 Kottu Mee advertisement has been widely recognized and celebrated in sri lanka, notably winning the "Advertisement of the year" award at the SLIM KANTAR people's Awards. This ad is reflecting the brand's "Hot N Spicy".

Targeted Audience

In this advertisement they use the most famous celebrities Yohani De Silva and Ashanya Premadasa as main singers and dancers. They are the popular celebrities among young generation who can attract whole young people. For it, they use specific colors, clothes, hair styles, locations, backgrounds and even body shapes. They show beautiful and sexy looked girls and handsome boys to attract youngers. And also in the ad they use some shots regarding cricket. Then they try to gain attention from cricket loves. In that case we can realize their targeted audience is our young people like us.

And also to create background they mostly use pink color. These colors are fun, energetic and attractive colors. So it is look beautiful and pretty. So i think everyone may like to watch this ad.

In this advertisement they focus beach which everyone like as the location and backgrounds. It is the best place according to their theme. Because in that situation they show fun, party mood and relaxing time. So it is best. Because of the location, the advertisement is added extra value and attractiveness. They have used pink mix colors to match with the scene. They create background to show it as a beach party. This party is named as "FUN FEST" Behind the people we can see billboards named as kottu mee. 


 It has used highly editing techniques, lights, flags, stages to create more relatable background. The advertisement has used things that young people loved. As well as when is comes to the song, the words that use are related to youngers thoughts, feelings and experiences in their lives. Not only that, in the song they mention some social media names that every youngers used. 

Overall, even though using western cultural things the advertisement taps Sri lankan culture by featuring local music and national flag, enhancing the sense of community and national pride.
